My name is Rebeca Martin, and I am a birth photographer and doula serving the Greater Sacramento Area. As a photographer, I love to capture those special moments of one of the most important days of your life. What a wonderful gift to be able to share these memories with friends and family for years to come. As a doula, I enjoy promoting an environment of trust and support to allow your birth to nourish and positively transform you, your baby, and your family. My goal is to support you to achieve a satisfying and fulfilling birth experience.

From childhood to today, I have always had a passion for photography. I love taking pictures and am often behind the camera. My trainings in photography and videography have helped hone my natural eye and have increased my passion to capture beautiful moments. I love capturing the life-changing and transformative moments of birth, and I am so grateful and honored to be invited to photograph and film in such a sacred space.
Doula...
I have always been passionate about the journey of childbirth. My childhood was filled with stories of my lineage of strong birthing women, which profoundly shaped my view of birth as a natural and beautiful process. In 2012, I apprenticed with New Earth Midwifery, a local, homebirth midwifery practice, under Tuesday Benavidez-Knight, where I attended many beautiful home births. Birth can be one of the most authentic moments in life, and the journey is beautiful to witness.
Recent Years...
In the years following my apprenticeship, I met the love of my life, and we welcomed two children into the world through beautiful home births. As the years passed, my passion for birth work intensified, and in 2020 I continued my doula path once more, incorporating my passion for photography. I live with the love of my life and three beautiful children, enjoying the wonderful opportunities life has to offer.
Gratitude...
I am honored to be able to witness the sacred journey each laboring woman takes into that cosmic place of in-between. The journey beyond oneself, into a spiritual world where time ceases; where the whole world pauses, just for you, while you welcome a new soul into your heart. It is this mesmerizing place that fills me with strength and gratitude. I enjoy trusting my intuition as an important guide for how and when to capture those special moments and provide effective support. I am continuously building upon my skill set and education to reinforce my innate understanding of the unique circumstances of each beautiful birth.
The dance of labor is beautiful and profound, and these moments carry with us through generations.
I have received trainings from The Beauty In Birth and Birth Becomes You in photography, videography, and editing for birth photographers. I have received in-person training for Spinning Babies, as well as DONA trainings for birth professionals in breast feeding, childbirth, and doula care. I am trained and certified as a birth doula through International Doula Institute. I am enjoying my photography and doula journey, and I am deeply happy to be a part of this wonderful community.
